Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs)
An MTF is a medical facility (hospital, clinic, etc.) operated by the uniformed services—usually located on or near a military base. MTFs are given the right of first refusal (ROFR) for TRICARE Prime beneficiaries residing in a TRICARE Prime Service Area (PSA) for inpatient admissions, specialty appointments, and procedures requiring prior authorization.
