The EDI/ERA/EFT section highlights articles and resources that deal with electronic data interchange (EDI), electronic remittance advice (ERA), and electronic funds transfer (EFT).
TriWest’s claims processor, Wisconsin Physicians Service (WPS), is skilled in implementing EDI strategies with a variety of provider specialties, billing services, and software vendors. Choosing one of their EDI options assures you ample assistance throughout the claims filing process. Filing claims electronically results in faster processing of your claims. It takes an average of 5.33 days to process EDI claims compared to a 17-day average to process paper claims.
Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) is the electronic equivalent of the paper remittance advice (also known as Explanation of Benefits or EOB) and provides details on how your claims were processed. Also known as the 835 transaction, your ERA can be a secure and reliable alternative to manually posting claim adjudication information to an accounts receivable software program and allow you more time to focus on caring for your patients.
* To be eligible to receive an EFT from TriWest, you need to be a network provider that receives electronic remittance advices (ERA).
You can submit claims online and check claim status regardless of how the claim was submitted via the secure provider portal at TriWest.com/provider.
